Dear Engineering Students,
I am Shankar, did my M.Tech in Power and Control from IIT Kanpur, B.Tech from JNTU Kakinada Campus and Diploma from Andhra Polytechnic Kakinada. I worked in General Electric, Hyderabad for 6 years in the field of renewable energy sources. At present, delivering number of lectures in the field of power electronics (since 2007) and delivered lectures in Control systems as well (in the past) especially for GATE/ESE/PSUs. This blog is to explore the various opportunities for electrical engineering students especially preparing for competitive exams. I would like to utilize this blog as platform to share information as much as I can and requesting the continuous feed back for the improvement. Important tips for IITK interview

Dear All,
Please keep the following points in mind before going to Written test/Interview in IITK for Power engineering specialization
Concentrate more on the following topics:

From PE:
  1. DC - DC Converter analysis from my notes
  2. L and C concept explanation....especially Volt sec balance for L and Amp - sec balance for C
  3. DC - AC Converters and PWM techniques
  4. Switch classifications and realizations for various circuits
From PS:
  1. Load flow analysis
  2. Jacobian formation and its importance
  3. Stability analysis with equal are criterion
  4. Load frequency control
Few more interview questions (in general) are available in my PEQB Rev 2
