Dear Engineering Students,
I am Shankar, did my M.Tech in Power and Control from IIT Kanpur, B.Tech from JNTU Kakinada Campus and Diploma from Andhra Polytechnic Kakinada.
I worked in General Electric, Hyderabad for 6 years in the field of renewable energy sources. At present, delivering number of lectures in the field of power electronics (since 2007) and delivered lectures in Control systems as well (in the past) especially for GATE/ESE/PSUs. This blog is to explore the various opportunities for electrical engineering students especially preparing for competitive exams. I would like to utilize this blog as platform to share information as much as I can and requesting the continuous feed back for the improvement. IITK interview tips

Dear All,
Congratulations for shortlisted candidates in IITK interview
As per their notification, even though they mentioned only interview but I will suggest you to be prepare for written test as well

Prepare the following topics well for Power electronics:
1. Various types of switches
2. Buck, Boost and Buck boost converters with circuits and waveforms
3. VSI and CSI analysis both single phase and three phase
4. Recent applications of PE (mostly my introduction clas is enough)
5. Be very clear on L and C properties

Mentally prepare to draw the waveform on board

Prepare the following topics for Power systems:

1. Transmission line analysis
2. Load flow analysis
3. Power system stability and load frequency control concepts
