Important Update on IITB

Dear All,
The Written test for M.Tech. admission under RA/RAP category for EE1/EE2/EE3/EE4 is scheduled on June 5, 2014 and Interview of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on June 6, 2014. Interview will be continued on June 7, if required.

The shortlisted candidates will be declared on 30-Apr-2014. Check the Online Application Portal of IIT B

IITK interview tips

Dear All,
Congratulations for shortlisted candidates in IITK interview
As per their notification, even though they mentioned only interview but I will suggest you to be prepare for written test as well

Prepare the following topics well for Power electronics:
1. Various types of switches
2. Buck, Boost and Buck boost converters with circuits and waveforms
3. VSI and CSI analysis both single phase and three phase
4. Recent applications of PE (mostly my introduction clas is enough)
5. Be very clear on L and C properties

Mentally prepare to draw the waveform on board

Prepare the following topics for Power systems:

1. Transmission line analysis
2. Load flow analysis
3. Power system stability and load frequency control concepts

PE solutions for GATE 2014

Dear All,
I have prepared solutions for power electronics questions for GATE 2014
Here is my take away in PE from three sets of papers.

1. I found the number of questions are same in all three sets
2. Number of one mark question = 1
3. Number of two mark questions = 3
4. Total marks from PE is 7 marks in each set of paper.

I noticed the priority for all subjects is same in all three sets but students felt different due to so many reasons. Any how I dont want to discuss all those now
