Few interview tips

Dear All,
I got an opportunity to conduct mock interviews for TSPSC – AEE posts in the last week. I had few observations from the candidates and would like to share with my student community for their preparation in future interviews.
Most of the candidates are confusing in answering questions on hobbies, extra-curricular activities and co-curricular activities. In order to avoid the confusion, let us look into the basic definitions:
Question:
What is a co-curricular activity?
Answer:
A co-curricular activity is something that a person does because it is a part of the syllabus put
together by the university or the state board. So, if you are an engineering student with some XXX University, all that you do that your teacher asks you to do is co-curricular activity.
Example: Assignments after theory classes, preparation of lab records, quizzes, mental mathematics etc.
Question:
What is an extra-curricular activity?
Answer:
An extra-curricular activity has “pro-activeness” written all over it.  By definition, extra-curricular activities are “educational activities that do not fall in the scope of regular curriculum”. These are the activities that are totally outside the realm of normal curriculum, but are essential for the all round development of the students.
Example:
Industrial internship, technical paper presentation, sports, gym, swimming, athletics, etc.
Question:
What is hobby?
Answer:
A Hobby is an activity you pursue in your leisure time for pleasure and personal growth. Since these activities are done in short spurts, and regularly chances are that you are really passionate about them too!
Example:
Cooking, book reading, listening music, gardening etc.

Always in the service of students,
With best wishes,
